Had three nights there after a weeks' boating on the river Lot. Room with great view over town and countryside and large comfortable double bed. Breakfast a good international standard. Did not eat there as starred Michelin restaurant too expensive apart for special occasions, but plenty of choice within a minute from Hotel.Outside pool a haven of tranquillity.View management response »

Due to a complete mess with Ryanair, we had to stay in Carcassonne and Hotel de la Cite was a welcoming break, even if arriving at 2am. The night receptionnist was incredibly helpful, giving us direction over the phone for 10 minutes on how to redirect us to enter the cite ; He actually called me back on my mobile phone to get a better line. Very professional, efficient and helpful. Breakfast next mrning was very nice, again the staff was very friendly and efficient, attending to all our requests effortless. A pity we could not stay longer, but we will be back. PS : some Pillows on our bed could be softer than other to accommodate all tastes and pity the bath was very dusty ; it could have been refreshed when the housekeepers prepared the room earlier in the evening (bed already prepared for the night etc....).View management response »

The hotel is really wonderful, the hotel staff super friendly, the room was great, clean, the bed very nice, everything super; the restaurant is for real gourmands, staff is just amazing there. Just the location of the hotel is not the best because you cannot drive within the fortress from 10 am till 6 pm. Well, the hotel provides the free parking just outside the fortress, so it is not the big inconvenience.

As reputation,this is very nice Hotel to stay.People working there seems to be enjoying their works,and are very willing to make guests happier.Especially a lady at a Restaurant for Breakfast is incrediblly efficient and nice.The atomospher surrounding the Hotel is so great,and people should be able to forget the time passing-by.A couple of issues could be;-Eventhough they are saying that wifi is available whole through the Hote,this is not true.To have a better access,people need to be at around the Reception area.-The Restaurant for the Dinner is also very nice,but once there are many customers,their services could be a bit slow than generally accepted in various good Restaurant.But all-in-all,this Hotel is very good.

I have two negatives to begin with. Firstly, whilst endeavouring to find some information my call to the hotel was ended by the receptionist (I was unaware that I was talking to reception and thought I was connected to reservations) due to guests checking out. She promised to call me back and....didn't!?Whilst dining in the main restaurant, where although I must say that the food as you might expect was very good, I was a tad concerned by the fact that a change to a fixed menu was not communicated and merely delivered. For a restaurant of this standing it was very poor. Veal for Duck! For some people this might prove a big problem. My issue is not the quality of the food merely the attention to detail.In all other respects it is what you would hope and expect for an establishment of this ilk.

Fantastic hotel in an amazine fortress! The staff was extremely kind and helpful and our room was amazing - spacious, comfortable, and high quality. The only "negative" was that our room overlooked the town street and it was a bit noisy early in the AM when deliveries were being made. Otherwise this was an A+ experience!

Excellent service. Food and service at la barbacane restaurant was awesome. Wonderful breakfast. We had the feeling of being treated like we were kings.
