What new offerings and key technological innovations are set to change the business traveller's everyday life, in particular with regard to in-flight Wi-Fi and those all-important open-sesames, passports and visas?

In recent years, the business travel market has developed in a number of ways. Between innovative offerings and the arrival of new players, it's now all about standing out and giving business travellers a great experience. Lilian Roten, vice president brand management Swissôtel and Pullman, explains this to us in detail.

And speaking of experience, according to the OnePoll/Lastminute.com study, connectivity - namely access to free Wi-Fi - is often a recurring sticking point for European travellers (46%). Although it’s now possible to connect to the internet when on board a plane, in Europe there are few airlines that offer adequate in-flight Wi-Fi access, unlike in the US, which is way ahead. Will 2019 finally be the year when things in this area really take off?

Introduced some 15 years ago, biometric passports have contributed significantly to the smooth flow of passengers through airports. Today, 1 billion electronic passports issued by more than 120 countries are now in circulation worldwide. We also take stock of the latest developments concerning those all-important documents for the business traveller: passports and visas.
